The Mission of the International Organization for Migration in Kazakhstan, межправительственная организация

Central Asia Regional Migration Programme (CARMP) is a joint programme of IOM, UNWOMEN, World Bank and UK Department for International Development (DFID/UKAID) implemented in Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan and Russia.


Communication tasks:

· Update and implement CARMP communication note, in compliance with the rules, ethical guidelines and regulations of all participating agencies;

· Provide strategic guidance and operational support on all information/communication/public relations related initiatives which includes:

· guidance to CARMP implementing partners to prepare information and communication materials, publications, handbooks, brochures, leaflets;

· coordinate preparation and do QA of articles, briefs, success stories and other communication and information materials in in different formats, including multi-media (internet, radio, television, social networks, posters, flyers, etc.) derived from CARMP’s work;

Coordination tasks:

· Assist with organization of documentation and maintenance of all relevant communication and information evidence (agendas, communication materials, press releases, relevant citations/references in media etc.) of performed and relevant actions, and events;

· Make relevant contributions to the bi-annual and annual progress reports prepared by CARMP

Mass media advocacy tasks:

· Organize press-conferences, interviews, and other events with media involvement;

· Contribute to work being done within CARMP with mass media in countries of destination of labour migrants on promotion of positive image of labour migrants, tolerance and social integration;


· Degree in media relations, journalism, social sciences, development studies, and/or similar discipline;

· A minimum of 3 years of specialized experience in public relations, communications and/or advocacy at the national and international level;

· Demonstrated ability to work with a media, civil society organizations, international agencies, businesses, and government entities;

· Good understanding of migration, development, human rights and gender equality issues;

· Proven track record of ability to elaborate and implement communication strategies;

· Proven networking, team-building, organizational and communication skills;

· Demonstrated IT skills, ability to work with website, and photo/video equipment and processing;

· Excellent writing and editing skills and knowledge of requirements to the work with different type of mass media (printed, TV, radio, information agencies, social media, etc.);

· Excellent written and spoken Russian and English languages. Knowledge of Kazakh, Tajik, or Kyrgyz languages is an asset.

· Respond positively to critical feedback and differing points of view.
